Challenge question for builders! I need a html code! Please read all the question it’s not a standard?

embedded code to play win media files i have already uploaded. I asked this previously and it was not understood. I am looking for a code to place on a page that if while on that page I opened my windows media player on my pc to play a file off my pc (note again any winmedia file not a specific one) it would open on this page and play rather than opening just as the regular player on my pc.
Here is the original question I posted if anyone can help I would appreciate it.
Does anyone have a webcode that would open win media player on a web page. I am not talking about uploadiing?
a wma or a flash file to a page. Rather the actual winmedia from the pc. Maybe even using an i-frame? To make it more clear of what I am wanting to do here is an exmple. If I have the web page open and then I open wmplayer, I would like it to play on that webpage. Does anyone know of a code for this? I want it to open on that page or in i-frame. Any help is appreciated ….. thanks

    Well….
maybe you can use the code and then put the extension of a win media file.
    maybe it can work…

What you are asking for may not be possible. Since most browsers are written to protect the client (That being the machine the browser is running on) most I/O functions are not allowed from a browser. A way to get around this would would be am add-in for the browser. It is not a simple task.

Thatz not possible..Because most of the browsers are designed to protect client from malicious activities from various untrusted websites….This is done by preventing any program that runs in the web browser to access the computer resourses of the the client..
If you really want to do this, then you can design a web-browser which suits your needs..and that should not be a very difficult task for you as it is clear from your question that you have habit of thinking out of the box..keep it up..Best of luck.. !!

well u need to knw that it is possible! that is streaming concept….only 1 thing to be done change ur wmp link path to the file u want to execute(think that it can be done through registry as well but not sure)….have a file dialog button(use .net if u can)..select the file and it will play…..next u will need precise code…i dont have it but u need advanced level knwldge for doin it….refer to books it wuld be easy….i would give it a try….and post it if i make it!

    nothing is impossible!
some things are just inexplicable and illogical but certainly not impossible…

If I understand you correctly, you basically want to replace the normal windows media player with your browser based version.

If I didn’t understand , then ignore the rest of this post.

You’ll have to basically change the file associations for your media to point to your browser instead of your media player.
You’d then have to make the browser have a default page which can play the media.
