Since I have been on Career Builder, I have rec’d several emails with a set interview time in the email. I am employed full time. If I were interested, how would I apply? Do they have many people call to show up for this type of interview? Does this type of marketing work? All is does is frustrate me because it seems there are several jobs out there, but unless you can attend the “webinar” during the day, or go to an interview at 10:00 AM, then I guess we don’t have a chance. I don’t understand what has become of the job market. I’ve called these people who have requested that I call (when they wanted me to call) and have not had the call returned. I’ve seen so many links from so many emails to so many web sites that only want to sell us job seekers something. It makes me wish we could go back to just having the black and white classified ads in the city newspaper. That we could count on. I’m very disappointed. I wonder if others are also. Feedback?

Do websites like Yahoo Hot Jobs, Monster, or Career Builder actually work to find you a job?
Posted by admin on April 19th, 2010 | 2 Comments »
I just graduated from college with a B.B.A. in General Business and I’m looking to find a professional job. I know it’s gonna be tough with the bad job market right now, but I was told that websites like Yahoo Hot Jobs, Career Builder, and Monster really are not that great to find a professional job. Is this true? I was told that from these kind of websites, you’ll get phone calls from companies that’ll offer you sales jobs with a high turnover rate or from lame temp agencies that’ll find you jobs making $13 or $14 an hour.

Has anyone had any luck with submitting their resume on Job websites such as Monster, Career Builder etc?
Posted by admin on March 17th, 2010 | 5 Comments »
I have been looking for a job for 6 months & have submitted so many on these sites but I never get a response. I get one from the site itself saying my resume has been sent but I have never heard from the actual company. I am about ready to make a new cover letter asking them to respond in a timely manner in regards to my resume. If I am not qualified enough then please let me know immediately. If I have a chance then please notify of the possibilty with an estimated time frame of when interviews will be held.
What do you guys think? I would reword it to be very polite of course. I just can’t afford to drive all over, filling my gas tank every 5 days so I have to use these sites.

I have use all of the above. I am looking for a job in sales, but not retail. I am looking to conect with some of the less known companies, that may have better jobs than what I find on the more common sites. I live in the Detroit aera and have about 15 years of retail and consultative sales experience. I am especially intrested transitioning into in marketing if possible.
